Meet Ami Gosalia from Mondays

What is Mondays?

Mondays is an evidence-based innovation studio and marketplace that creates and curates high-quality products for traditional and home office environments.

How did the idea for Mondays come about?

While I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to work with mission-oriented companies where I had a genuine passion for the business, I also learned the hard way that de-prioritizing mental and physical well-being leads to negative outcomes. As I began exploring this topic, I heard from so many others that they felt their relationship with their work was also broken or unhealthy. I knew this was a problem I wanted to understand better and help build solutions for. That’s where Mondays was born.

What is your top selling / favorite product?

My favorite product is our Best Mondays Ever Gift Set which includes our illustrated movement guide Mondays Moves as well as our signature essential oil desk sprays. The gift set is functional, beautiful and most importantly, something that people actually want to use (much better than the company branded swag that seems to be the norm these days!).

For you, what does it take to build a successful brand?

This could be an entire book but the top things that come to mind are:

  • High quality product offering and visual design
  • Deep understanding of your core customer and what motivates them
  • Willingness to experiment and learn

What made you interested in using Carro?

We love the idea of advocating for products that we believe support our mission, but the overhead costs of managing inventory and delivery didn’t make sense for us as a company. Carro was the perfect way for us to accomplish this!

What motivates you?

I am excited to wake up every day and build something that can help to help people live healthier, happier lives! Given that the average person spends about 10,000 days (or close to 90,000 hours!) of their lives at work, I believe we have a massive opportunity to change the culture of work and our relationship to it.

What would you like to share with others to encourage them on their entrepreneurship journey?

Talk to lots of people about the problem you want your business to solve. The voice of the customer is the one that matters most -- if you’re solving a large, urgent and valuable problem for them, you’re in the right place.

Just start! And once you do, set up realistic mini-milestones that you can accomplish days or (at most) a week at a time. Build accountability into this roadmap and celebrate your progress and momentum. There’s a lot you can do with little to no capital, you just have to keep moving!

Surround yourself with people you can learn from and who complement your experience and skill sets. Also, people who dream big! They’re the ones who will push you higher.

If you were not running Mondays, what would you be doing?

Running a wellness retreat center somewhere beautiful abroad!
